Hand-formed pottery and ceramic vessels

Materialsare the Story.

VIA Calico is material-led. Products are examples — materials are the identity.

01

Clay & Ceramics

Clay is one of the oldest expressions of human craft. It carries earth, fire, hand, and form. VIA Calico works with pottery, terracotta, stoneware, glazed ceramics, handmade tiles, vessels, table objects, bathroom pieces, decorative forms, and sculptural elements. We see clay as a material of warmth and imperfection — ideal for spaces that need softness, tactility, and soul.

Metal

Metal brings strength, permanence, and refinement. Our material focus includes brass, copper, bronze, iron, stainless steel, Aluminum, and crafted metal finishes. These materials can become cookware, fittings, handles, lighting elements, trays, furniture details, bathroom accessories, decorative objects, and architectural accents. Metal allows us to create contrast: polished yet earthy, strong yet elegant, functional yet decorative.

Stone

Stone gives a space weight, silence, and permanence. We work with marble, granite, sandstone, limestone, soapstone, slate, and regional stone varieties. These materials can be shaped into basins, furniture tops, bathroom pieces, décor objects, trays, flooring accents, wall elements, and sculptural pieces. Stone is central to VIA Calico’s language of responsible luxury because it feels grounded, enduring, and naturally expressive.

Wood

Wood brings warmth, structure, and memory into interiors. Our focus includes solid wood, carved wood, reclaimed wood, engineered wood, outdoor-suitable timber, and mixed-material wood applications. Wood can become furniture, storage, trays, wall pieces, handles, decorative accessories, kitchen objects, and architectural details. We value wood for its ability to age beautifully and make spaces feel human.

Natural Fibres

Natural fibers bring responsibility and texture into design. We work with cane, rattan, jute, coir, seagrass, bamboo, banana fiber, palm fiber, and other plant-based materials. These can be used in baskets, storage, furniture, rugs, lampshades, panels, trays, accessories, and decorative surfaces. These materials are especially important to VIA Calico’s idea of alternate luxury — beautiful, useful, renewable, and deeply connected to place.

Textiles

Textiles are where comfort meets craft. VIA Calico works with cotton, linen, wool, silk blends, handwoven fabrics, embroidered textiles, jacquards, flatweaves, and hospitality-grade fabrics. These materials can become bed linen, bath linen, table linen, rugs, carpets, cushions, throws, curtains, upholstery, robes, and soft furnishings. Textile is one of our strongest material worlds because it touches the body directly. It must feel right, perform well, and carry quiet refinement.

Leather

Leather brings softness, durability, and a sense of crafted detail. We use it selectively for accessories, handles, trays, furniture accents, storage pieces, desk objects, hospitality accessories, and finishing details. Our approach to leather is restrained and intentional. It should add grip, warmth, comfort, or refinement — never excess.
